Sewing a simple pouch by hand (pic heavy tutorial)
« on: January 06, 2013, 06:10:03 PM »
Today I decided to make a simple pouch. Had a piece of scrap cloth lying around from one of my wife's projects that she was kind enough to give to me.

got it trimmed up...

folded over the channel for the cord, it'll be needed later...

my go to for hand sewing, small needle and dental floss...

channel sewn one way...

and back the other way...

folded over, ready to sew the side and bottom seams...

sewn one way...

and back the other way...

cord threaded thru channel and bag turned right side out...

big enough to store my field repair kit...

thanks for looking folks!

Great tutorial for a good item to make!  I saved the nylon carry bag from a couple folding camp chairs to make some of those.  Thanks for sharing!!

I think the best part of that is that you sewed it by hand rather than using a machine. :)

I have made a few of those out of various materials and in the same manner you do.

Thanks for sharing.

One great use for these type of pouches is for camp stoves to keep your other gear in your pack clean.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I had some free time last night, this was an easy project to do sitting around.

Yep, particularly if your pack is a single compartment type, it's nice to have pouches inside to keep things sorted.

Nice workmanship   Only problem I see is that if you ever misplace it out in the woods, it'll be gone forever
