Could it finally be?
« on: February 23, 2012, 03:33:42 PM »
I don't think we've had any watches or warnings all winter, has anyone from where this storm has been ( Illinois ) gotten any decent accumulations yet?

Warnings
Brantford - County of Brant
 3:18 PM EST Thursday 23 February 2012
Snowfall warning for
Brantford - County of Brant issued

 Snow is on the way.

A low pressure system over Illinois this afternoon is forecast to track northeastward across the Lower Great Lakes tonight. Snow in advance of this system will spread into Southwestern Ontario this evening, the greater Toronto area overnight, and reach Eastern Ontario by Friday morning. Total snowfall accumulations of about 15 cm are expected for many locales along a swath from Sarnia to Cornwall.

The snow will taper off from west to east Friday afternoon and evening.

I hope you get enough to be fun, but not enough to be dangerous. :)

Yea, nothing too extreme. I've kinda gotten used to this snowless ( for the most part ) winter we've had.

Still just overcast and gloomy, no snow yet

we've had a decent amount of snow, but the past two winters it has fallen a few inches, then melted. Then a few weeks later, the same. So off and on we have had a decent amount fall, but never enough consecutive snows to get deep enough to take out the snowshoes.

We've had early spring all winter long. Typical temperatures are 30 to 45 degrees, some days up to 60... In Upstate NY. It ain't right, I tells ya! Supposed to get 3-5" of snow tonight, but then it goes up to 41 tomorrow. Weird.

Less than an inch in Illinois.  And what has fallen is slushy and will probably melt.  However it just started to flurry so we will have to see if it will accumulate.

Wish we were getting some snow. All we have is rain.

This latest "snowpocolypse" is just a dusting.  At least in west-suburban and downtown Chicago.  It'll be washed away by the rain by Sunday.  North of the city they've gotten 6-9 inches and I'm sure Indiana and Michigan will get walloped with the snow coming off of Lake Michigan.

This winter has been underwhelming.

Turned out to be a non event, a little wet snow that didn't even cover the grass, now the rain has all but washed that away...

Here in Nova Scotia it arrived as rain and a dusting of snow too.
Just this morning my son was complaining that we've had virtually no winter. Sledding only twice and the ice on lakes was never fit for ice fishing.
