Husqvarna Forest Axe for only $40!!!
« on: April 09, 2017, 11:22:11 AM »

https://www.amazon.com/Husqvarna-576926201-Curved-Wooden-Multipurpose/dp/B004WJGXAQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491758172&sr=8-1&keywords=husqvarna+axe

I have had this axe for over a year and it is awesome, made by Hults Bruk in Sweden for Husqvarna. I paid $65 and it's a steal at that price, but I just saw it for $40 on Amazon today, so I thought I would bring it to the attention of the folks here.

This is an unbelievable deal, for an axe that is on par with any other Swedish axe, made by the oldest axe manufacturer in the world.

It comes a bit unfinished...workin g edge and tool marks on it, but nothing a good sharpening puck can't fix in an hour or two.

I bought a Husky camp hatchet last year for about $30 at Baileys Online but it took a fair bit to work to clean the black gunk off and get a decent edge on it.  But after the rehab work, it turned out to be a damned fine tool.

I guess he'd rather be in Colorado.

Yeah it's good steel and good wood.  That's all that matters for a starting point.  The rest can be remedied yourself into a supreme axe.  Some don't even need anything really.  Husqy and Council are my top two users I recommend for folks buying new.  They are well made.

Ya I was told about the Husky axes a few years back, good values. The hatchet is short, stocky, stout with good head weight. The regular axe has a lighter head and feels like a light weight for a full sizer. Just my impressions.
