hand guards on knives

I would like to start making some of my knives with hand guards.
but have always been fearful of screwing them up.
is it really that difficult to do. is there an easy way,lol
i would like to build some combat style knives with guards,
anyone here have much experience really need help.
you know the guards like one sees on a bayonet or bowie.

Go to the tutorial section and learn all kinds of helpful ways to construct a well-finished, professional-looking knife.  You can get tips on how to make a guard from bar stock, fit the guard to the tang properly and solder the guard to achieve a perfect fit.  You can always use J-B Weld, too.....but a well done solder joint is the mark of a knife that has ALL of the 't's crossed and the 'i's dotted! 8).  Page 13 shows the epoxy method and page 3 shows the solder method in the tutorial section. :thumbsup:
