4 Point
« on: November 10, 2017, 01:24:15 PM »
Biggest dang 4 point I have seen in years.  My son shot it on his property near Gainesville.  I went out to process it so he could go to work.  Heavy deer, lots of meat.  I fixed some back strap for breakfaste.  Diced up and mixed with onions, fried in butter.  Cornbread and eggs along with it.  outstanding.   :)

  Tell your son Congrats.

But 'tween you and me That deer ain't much bigger than a German Shepard,  a four point up here is usually 130 lbs. at least,  pretty deer though, and good eating I'll wager.

Congrats to your son, great job. I know you'll be staked out at his property a bit this season...

when I got the meat home, it was way past breakfast time.  I cut up some of a back strap,  cooked that in French butter and onions.  Eggs and corn bread to go with it.  Most assuredly, good eats.  Even if it was from a German Shepard sized deer.  laughing.

Now you know that was just some good natured leg pulling on my part,  I lost my smileys on this forum awhile back with the windows 10 transition and never was able to get them back.

Been there, done that with my kids. Clean kill and good eats makes it a trophy! Congrats to the young hunter.

Yeah. "Western count", we'd call that a fork-horn, or a 2-point. Nice table fare, none the less. You can't eat the horns, no matter how big. ;)
The more I understand, the less I know. Pretty soon I'll understand everything, and know nothing.
