Chickamauga Lake
« on: June 23, 2016, 04:45:53 PM »
Braved the heat yesterday and went fishing with a friend. It was about 93F with a heat index over 100F and we still caught a few fish - all largemouth bass. No real pattern ... I caught one on a Texas rigged worm, one on a Carolina rigged worm and one breaking fish on a rattle bait. Buddy caught one flipping a big creature bait, a Carolina rigged lizard, and a couple on topwater. All but one were keeper size. Biggest was about 4 lbs... No I didn't catch it.

Can't post pics ... Not sure if there's trouble on my end or on Tapatalk.

I think Chickamauga is about #7 on Bassmaster's list of the Top 100 bass lakes. Lake record is 13lbs, 13oz. A number of 5 fish, 40+ pound bags have been weighed there. A bunch of those big bags have been caught on the Alabama rig.

Great pics, looks like you had a good time.  I think it'd take me a long time to acclimate, I don't do heat well.  Wes

Thanks, Wes. We got there about the hottest time of the day but it started cooling off in a couple hours. I couldn't have handled it much longer than that (or I wouldn't have wanted to).
