Sad isn't  it? Unfortunately predictable.  Some folks want to blame this or that group with labels and other nonsense but the facts point in another direction entirely. But hey, in a post fact time does it really matter? We're just fighting over crumbs anyway.

Covid vaccines are a public health issue not a political scheme. I'm old enough to remember Polio and the reaction when an effective vaccine became available. Jonas Salk didn't make billions on it btw. Alexander Fleming just gave Penicillin to the world not long before. Ive taken care of young people, today in our nation, who died from lack of a course of treatment with widely available antibiotics.

We used to understand we were all part of something larger. Today it's just  i, Me, Mine and my tribe must rule regardless. All while our self identified elites snicker all the way to an offshore bank.

That's why i live in the sticks and spend time outdoors. Camping for a few days or a week is a good way to refocus on what, in the final analysis really matters and reminds me not to forget the bigger picture. Dollar bills look pretty different after a few days in a wilderness area.

Yes, things seem pretty messed up in some respects and it's maybe going to get more so. But answers will mot be found on the tv or talk radio; just the opposite. Maybe the real answers are pretty obvious. And uncomfortable.

BTW The Fourth and Fifth Amendments were hollowed out in the early years of this century.

 Good question Tony,  in a manner of speaking I suppose it has, then again, maybe it's more complex than that,  for the most part we humans are a part of the animal world and as such we are mostly guided by our life experiences,  we generally live as we are taught (a more suitable word might be Programed).
 There was a time when children went to school to learn to read, write, do simple math, and learn about history as it really happened, when it came to ideologies such as good and bad, religion, respect for self and for others, compassion, charity, understanding, responsibility and work ethics among others that was learned at home from parents.
 That all changed when it became necessary for women to leave the home and enter the work force,  when schools stopped focusing on academics and started teaching ideology and philosophy and started to rewrite history, when teachers at the university levels started to replace religion with secularism,  when they stopped teaching our kids how to read and write and how to add and subtract and how to think, and started programming them what to think, I don't know when this transformation actually started to be acted on but I suspect it started in earnest about the mid 1950's or so and got a kick in the a$$ during the years of the Vietnam war era..
 Today we are reaping the rewards of our folly, we have not for many generations bore our responsibility to raise our kids,  we sent them to strangers who programed them hate their creator, their history, and everything that made the world and life a wonderful thing.
 What used to be important was family, respect, honesty, humility, compassion and empathy,  that's all changed today,  as a society what's important is what kind of a car do you drive, how big your house is, how much money you earn, and what you can get for free.
 We in this country spent at least a couple of hundred years trying to get us to love one another, we fought a war that cost us 600,000 lives to free the slaves and another countless years trying to make it work,  and because we failed to pay attention and passed the responsibility on to others racism is being taught in our schools, and the world has truly been turned upside down.
 Allot of people still have hope that it can be changed back to the way it was,  personally I doubt it, the entities that we need to fight against are much more complicated than we imagine, they are world wide, well organized, and have more resources than we can imagine, and frankly I don't think we have the will to fight anymore, the greatest generation is all but died off.
 We could turn to our Creator and pray for help,  but even that seems to have been lost to us,  we in this country had it all and we became too self important to do the work to keep it,  but we pissed it all away.
 Want to know who the real threat is, look up Agenda 21 and Agenda 2030, the Great Reset, the New World Order.

 Some of the new technologies in medicine have changed our lives for the good, may of the vaccines and antibiotics that we have today have saved many and countless lives,  Polio for example, I lived through the final stages of the Polio epidemic some of my boyhood friends were afflicted and suffered from the illness.
 So what's the big stink about the Covid vaccines,  why are people afraid to take it, well, perhaps some folks remember the drug called Thalidomide that came out rather quickly and was sold to pregnant women to cure morning sickness,  and then caused all forms of deformities in babies who actually survived the drug, many were born dead or died shortly after birth.
 Because the deformities closely matched those caused by other known illnesses the true nature of the drug wasn't learned until it had wreaked horrible effects on those that had taken it, these new vaccines that the gov. is so insistent  that we take has not been tested long term, we don't know what it can cause down the road, whether or not there may be complications down the road is immaterial, what is material is that mandating by gov. order that people take it is unconstitutional and just plain wrong.

Aint no goin back.  Doesn't work that way. All we can do is try to deal with the here and now as best we can. Hence a man can only be fairly judged by his time and place. That's why history and context matter.

Columbus discovered America in one sense but to the 32 million or so already calling it home maybe not so much. George Washington never chopped down that cherry tree but isn't what he actually did enough?  I'm  impressed. So it goes. Yes, we had chattle slavery once and yes, we continue to have structural inequities. Pretending otherwise may seem a solution but it just creates more problems.

Thalidomide, DES,  Fen Fen and other medical failures are a matter of record.  And let's s never forget the 40 year long Tuskegee Experiment. People are fallible and dogma and or pursuit of profit sometimes overrides morals, ethics and good sense. Hardly news.  But i don't believe that's how most of us are. 

The days of a single wage earner adequately supporting a nuclear family are gone. Have been since the 1970s. The core issues may seem complex but they're really not. Kind of obvious too.

The problems we face today eclipse even the advent and distribution of nuclear weapons. When we approach our current problems it is a committed reliance on fact not faction that is necessary. Differing opinions may be drawn but fact remains and will hopefully ground those opinions in realty.

Old folks (me) like to talk about the good old days. And for some they were very good.  Im one. But we can't honestly be so selective in reminiscing that we  ignore those less fortunate.

We can't go back but we can go forward.

with regards to human behavior,  today's events are nothing new.  It's human nature to just say 'screw the unfortunate'.  If you study human behavior throughout history, you will see how we really are.

There are people who have claimed what they cannot rule they will ruin. And there are ample instances of callous dismissal of those less fortunate both in the historical record and today. But there are many who think and act otherwise both also in the historical record and today.

Tough talk is the province of the incompetent. Action is the province of those who would create  change. And the arena we have (had?) as a society for action has centered around the ballot box.
Give that up and we will no longer have a Tepublic.
