thanks, these have some really choice pieces for handles. I do make the beads when there is enough materials left over. Bad thing is you skin up a lot of knuckles making them lol
That black ash kind of reminds me of popcorn

I wonder if one of those on my belt would make me classier?

This knife is 8 3/8 with a 3 3/4 inch blade. The wood is Stabilized Green Afzelia. It almost has a florescent look to it. As you move it in the light, you get a hologram effect. The yellow liners and the gold logo really set it off. The pictures don't even come close.

Looking closer I can see some Hamon like action going on. Does that mean the spines are softer? If so what do you think are the pros and cons of that?

I usually do a hamon on my blades. So the cutting edge is harder than the spine. I think on a blade that's .200 thick and 3 1/2 inches long you aren't going to get any flex anyway. I just think it looks cool. Sometimes I polish out the hamon but I don't like shiny, high polished things. Check out my gallery of knives for more hamons

Thanks Dan. I think it can serve a purpose when there is a hard edge, makes the blade a bit tougher maybe if you baton. but not well suited for strikin a ferro rod. Chews up the spine on a pretty knife. Yours look sweet as is rather obvious from the gorgeous pics!

Wow! I really like the copper!
And the file you used, if I am not mistaken it is one of those antique files used for auto body work back in the days when they filled dents with lead solder.
Really great work.
