Labor day weekend paddle on the flats
« on: September 05, 2016, 05:13:28 AM »
Karen and I were able to sneak out for a couple hours of padding Sunday. The weather was as good as you could dream of. It was 80 degrees with zero humidity.

The Hibiscus have about bloomed out but there were still a few to greet us.

Our county has a training facility here along the river for fire, EMS, and police. Here is part of the fire training course.

A wood duck box I dont think I'd seen before.

This little fellow was in my flowers when I got home. Never seen him before either.

A beautiful time outside.

  Glad to see you are feeling better & are getting out more! Here's to more trips!

I love being out in the woods!   I like this quote from Mors Kochanski - "The more you know, the less you carry". I believe in the same creed, & think  "Knowledge & honed skills" are the best things to carry with ya when you're out in the wilds. They're the ultimate "ultralight" gear! ;)

Those 'spur of the moment' floats are the best thing around for soothing the busy and harried lives that we all seem to have anymore.  :canoe:        Looked like a perfect day for it, too!

Looks like a real nice paddle.
