Starting off 2017
« on: January 10, 2017, 08:02:50 AM »
I was contacted by my friend Tim Olt a week ago, and he said he was going to be making a few more knives soon in 154CM, a favorite steel of mine.  The blade will be shaped different from the one I got last fall, so I sent that knife back up to him, so he could duplicate the handle in that wonderful Antique Westinghouse Micarta.
Then I noticed that Rick Menefee out in Oklahoma was going to make some special knives, instead of just the boners, fillet knives and drop point hunters he is so famous for.  Larger knives with stag handles.
I threw in for a Loveless style Chute knife.  A2 Steel, Presentation grade Sambar Stag handles.  That is something I have wanted all my adult life, but never could have.  Might take a bit of time for that one, but it will be a beauty.

Those will be great.  I have looked at Menefee's work from time to time and like his drop point knives pretty well.  Pictures when you get it!

Definitely pics.
