pinecone knife scales

i want to do some pinecone scales, question is
can i just use epox press mold or do they HAVE to be
stabilized under pressure/vaccum?
please help i'm neer fitzn here.

Don't know, but a guy in The Netherlands made a couple of these pine cone knives, and it had beautiful colors etc etc etc.
But after a while using the filling epoxy gets scratched a little, and the epoxy is not so shiny anymore, and that makes the whole knife look dull.

So whatever you choose to do, the filling material should some something that si extremely hard, and you'll need to every now and then buff it up.
