I don't know exactly all what's in this thread, and I didnt bother to look (sorry!) BUT in case someone hasn't said anything, here's MY hint: do NOT rearrange your photobucket account. I 'tidied' up my account once while I wasn't as active on the forum, thinking I was being clever and organized, and it messed up EVERY pic! I only found out when I came back to post. And trust me, you'll feel like a total and completely equipped jackass if that happens -- everyone's looking at that retarded notice that this picture is no long available.

Just a heads up in case anyone reads this... If it hasn't already been said.

Good post, KK. I have one of the most disorganized messes of a PB account for this very reason. I'd love to go back and put things into different folders by category but then I'd have to come back and edit every single image I've posted. Photobucket needs to figure out a way to let you organize images on their site into folders without changing the original URL.

It seems like I got an email from PB, when I signed up, saying that they'd fixed that, but I'm too chicken to test it! :P

I know I am at the tail end of this but can I upload the images without a link? I do all my resizing and posting using Irfan view. I can change if need be but have gotten used to Irfan view and unfortunately I am not very technologically advanced :)

You can upload directly to the forum with a supporter subscription. Otherwise you need to use 3rd party hosting 😊

just a tip, for those of you who are already using facebook but do not have a photo hosting account. You can right click the pictures in your facebook album and post the links between the image tags in your post and use facebook as an image host. Get the image tags by clicking the Mona Lisa button to the right of the youtube button.

I am not sure if they shut down remote embedding if a certain bandwidth is exceeded or not, but it is a work around if you don't want to get a separate image hosting account.

The following image is hosted at the B&B facebook page.

I can get the links you're talking about but they don't show the pictures here. Here si how I get them to work. It may be hotlinking Which could be wrong. I'm not sure.

I will right click an image and choose "open image" or "view image". It opens to a webpage of that picture. Then I copy the web address and paste it in the picture icon box here.

Original screen. right click and open in new tab/page.

Right click on the image and click "view image"

Then you get this screen with just the image. This address bar you copy to paste here in the picture box .

I wish I could be a little more help. I host my pics and always have and I don't facebook. If you can get the img info between the brackets, it seems to work for me. I've post img codes from other places and if posted within the brackets properly..it works.

Spyder,

When you post a reply, you'll see an option at the bottom "Attachments and other options". Click that and you'll be presented with the option of choosing a file to upload.

So I'm literally BRAND NEW here. This is my first post, and I hope you'll excuse any difficulties for the time being. I came across this page during a review hunt on the CRKT woods chogan*, and it occurs to me you guys might like, and might have some good info on some of the stuff I have. If I can, I'll post a couple of pics for you. I'd love to hear criticisms and ideas, since I'm not real experienced in the "theory" side of stuff. Also, if there are any iPad users out there; what's the best way / is there a way to post a photo without uploading it to a photo site first? Full disclosure: I have no Facebook. I'm not real up on that kinda stuff and I have a nifty 'broad hatchet' (4.5" edge, 6" from poll to edge.) from Underhill Edge Tool Co in Nashua that folks might like.

*Not buying it. If I'm around wood I'll use my axe to make a stake driver. If I'm not around wood, I'll use my foot or a rock. If I'm not around wood, or feet, or rocks, I'm probably not around, period. What is this fascination with hammer polls?

Welcome!

That's a lot of questions all wrapped up in one post!

Take a look around on the forum and don't worry about posting a different topic for each question. Also we have an area for introductions to let members welcome newcomers.

I wish I had seen this post sooner. Hopefully if you check back you will see it and then we can go from there addressing each of your questions in the appropriate forum.

I can't help you with the iPad but I am sure someone here can.

I seem to be able to post a picture every now and then, but most times they don't work.
It's quite frustrating, and I am sure that it is an operator error.
