Last year I found 2 Norlunds like Creeks



I gave the good one to a friend and hafted mine this week .

I guess photobucket is fixed. The site looks different and works today!

Here is the big Norlund. 5 lb head on a 36 in haft. 6 1/2 lbs is one loverly package.

Seweet !
I don't put much of an edge on my splitting axes , just enough to get the job done .
I'm not sure when I'll have a load of rounds to bust up , let us know if you get a chance to test yours .

I have purchased only one hatchet at a flea market, an old Plumb carpenter.  All other axes and hatchets I have seen are made of solid gold.
I guess he'd rather be in Colorado.

What and where did you get that one creek?  I have yet to come across one and can't bring myself to spend the dough on ebay for one.  Looks nice though.  I've always wanted to try one out.  Are you going to make a handle for it?

It's just old school Finnish design wolfy. Axe with built in haft protection. These are hard to come by in the states and I paid accordingly. You can search their culture and glean the importance of these tools to their way of life. I'm going to restore this one and swing it. A nice addition.
