G10 Bush Baby - Sheath Pics Uploaded
« on: March 19, 2012, 07:37:15 PM »
One of our members asked me about scales for a Bush Baby. I told him I'd need to experiment a bit. Turns out I'm faster than I though I was! :D

Anyhow, these are black G10 scales on a bright finish Bush Baby. The material is 1/8" thick, for a 3/8" total handle thickness. Looks like the experiment was a success. I didn't expect the hardware to work with material this thin, but with a little careful grinding to shorten the screws, it worked.

The leather sheath pattern I use can work with this model, but it requires a slightly longer snap strap (about 1/4") because the scales don't allow the knife to insert quite as far into the sheath.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice, PW!  I gotta do that to mine.  That, and a sheath.
Is there such a thing as too many knives?

Is this the same style knife thats in the give-a-way?

On particularly rough days when I'm sure I can't possibly endure, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days so far is 100% and that's pretty good.

Yes, it is. :)

This one has some optional handle scales on it though.

I think this lil bush baby looks much better with Diapers on it .. :)     I think a knife this size would be a handy one to have out there in the wilds.

I just came back inside after spending the night in my hammock and what do I find.....

Very nice, I can't wait to see the sheath.
Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? One should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved.

Glad to hear you got to spend a night out.

I'm going to try to get a sheath together in the next few days. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Gryphon - I hear you. I sell a few items here and there to pay for all the toys.   ;)

You know how that goes.

P wood, I'm loving my second bush baby.  They're like peanuts, you can't stop at just one.
