USING FLICKER TO POST PHOTOS FROM THE IPAD
« on: November 24, 2017, 05:59:00 PM »
I put this under Ol Ps FLICKR TESTING thread in the test section and got zip, so I copied and pasted the same plea for help here.....

Are any of you guys with iPads successfully using Flickr to copy & paste photos here?  I have tried several different ways, but so far without success.  I have copied & pasted the URL between the image tags and I tried just copying & pasting the URL, but get nothing but the link to show up......NO PICTURE. :-\   I am becoming sorely vexed! >:(

HELP!

I haven't tried with an IPAD but with flickr i know you have you pick the size you want before you can successfully get the link for it.  Otherwise it doesn't work.  So you might try checking you've selected a picture size first.  That's all I got.  Feel free to say thanks for nuthin if that don't help!  haha!  good luck though wolfy

When logged into your Flickr account in Safari on the iPad, select a picture from your album.

On the bottom right of the screen below the picture, click on the down arrow icon (download). That will open a small window to select the picture size. Once you select the size, the picture will show up in a new Safari window. Copy that URL and paste between the img tags in the forum post.

See a pic below for an example from My Flickr account.

The URL I pasted between the img tags below looks like this:

Code: [Select]

  THANKS, GREG!  Still no luck on Flickr, but I did manage to get one to work on Imgur.  I see no place to login on Flicker, but I do see my camera roll.....I must be an idiot.

Is this what you were trying to post from Flickr, Craig?

Wolfy, on your iPad, are you going to Flickr in the Safari browser or using the Flickr App for the iPad? If in Safari, when you view your link: https://www.flickr.com/gp/159724173@N02/8yX044, you should see an icon with a down arrow. If you click that, you should be able to select a size, and then a new window will open. From that window, just copy the URL.

I will be the first to admit that I have no idea how to login to my Flickr account by using Safari and not going through the app. :P     I have Googled 'Flickr.com' and then opened THAT in Safari, but at that point there is no option to login without opening my account through the Flicker app.  If I then open it through the Flickr app, all of my pictures are there and it greets me with my name like I am already logged in, but there is no place that is visible on my screen to login or out.  When I select a photo, there is no 'down arrow' as a choice....only an arrow that allows me to copy the URL, send in an email, etc.

I had to go into your Flickr account, examine the code for the page, extract the "http.....jpg"  code and paste it here.  Whew....

The problem is I don't even see the link before I post it here, as in example #1 above.....and then it appears as a blank box when I put that same link between the image tags here.....like as shown in example #2.

That's nuts. Even from your Flickr page, I have to "inspect element" when hovered on the photo, then "copy link address" from the DeBug Editor Box.  Only THEN can I post it here between the Img tags.

I only have one bit of advice.  See that can sitting next to your desk?  That's a trash can. That's where your iPad belongs.  :taunt:

Don't ask me how I did this, but it involved having to enter my photo stream through an email that was sent to me.  When I clicked on it I was able to login, download and resize the image just like you guys told me to, but I entered through a rabbit hole using the back door.....I may never be able to do it again!

Wow, that is a strange vehicle.  Better keep using that rabbit hole.

Yeah, my neighbor and his 1/2-wild son built that beast last year.  It uses the chassis off an old retired fertilizer floater with a tired Cat diesel irrigation engine.  The rear fenders are welded-together tracks from a crane, stacks are repurposed irrigation pipe, but I don't know what the year or make of the truck body is....vintage Dodge, maybe? ???   I couldn't get the whole boat into the photo, but I have never seen anything like it in these parts.  Looks like an old 'launch' from a Humphrey Bogart movie.

They have been approached by the movie people who are responsible for the creation of the vehicles in the MadMax (not OUR beloved MadMax) series of movies.  I'll be watching for it in the next movie after it comes out on Netflix. ;D

Whoa!  The boat looks as used up as the truck does.  Was this a parade float?  Hahaha.
