I needed a new punching bag, so...
« on: June 16, 2017, 04:41:03 PM »
A former friend turned stain (frienemy?) Has my old heavybag, so I turned to YouTube for possible solutions.

Found a video describing something much like what I'm working on now.

I used heavier oaken rough cut barnwood for the stand, and left the rear two legs a bit longer...partly to avoid wasting wood and also effort cutting em even, partly so I can weight it down even more if I choose.

Three tires down, four to go:
Bottom one is a tractor or a flatbed trailer tire with the rim intact which adds extra base weightage...

Gotta snag moar tires for up top.

Basically you just drill four large diameter holes through both sides of each tire and run a series of half hitches through the holes and tie em off to the center post using eye hooks.

I might use galvanized shorter screws to screw the tires together as well. Four to eight per tire in pairs side by side.

Update with pics coming in a few...
