Help please, what is this.

At a hole punch show today I bought a sack of molle strap adapters and those mini carabiners you can use for keys or similar stuff.  In the sack was this thing:



The distance across the open end is 1 1/4" and 1 1/4" from the open end to the round end.  The attached strap is sewn on and measures 3/4" wide.

Does anyone know what this is?  Thanks.

Water bottle carrier 20 ounce disposable type. Had some of these 5-10 years ago, they didn't seem to make it as a marketable item.

Usually there is a carabiner at the other end to clip on belt loop or pack.

There was a carabiner on the other end when I got it but I took it off when taking the photo.  I would not have guessed that........... ever.

Edit:  I went and got a water bottle out of the closet.  Fits perfectly and now I can sleep tonight.

Yep, water bottle carrier. Never saw much use for it, my bottles are always in the side pouches of my backpack.

It would appear to me that they would let the bottle flop around and be a nuisance.
