Stove jack in the treehouse tent

I need to take the tent down and for sure wanted to mark the canvas for the stove jack before I disassembled everything. I took the piping down and a buddy helped me slide it around so I could make my jack spot. This is the jack spot.



This shot will give you a better idea of the situation of the stove. Plenty of room for a cozy 3 I think, not in the in and out of the tent path. 18 inches off the fabric in all directions. I'll update as I progress.

Well I installed the jack today and cut the hole. I used hi-temp silicone. Seems stuck in there pretty good. I have pics but photobucket hasn't worked for me in 2 days. Now we move on to a flap to cover the hole. Not sure if I'll go ahead and do that or if it gets put off till fall.

Here are the pics of the stove jack installed. Turned out neat. Here is the poor tent after being deflated.



I smeared 700 degree silicone in the square the jack fit in. Rub the jack in there with purpose.



Stuck like glue. I trimmed around this profile.



This was the hunk I was dreading removing.



Didn't take long at all once I was committed.



Onward and upward.

I know we kind of were against your cutting the tent, but it really came out perfect. Good work!!!!

 Guess the tent goes on the back burner for as bit. I got it good and dry and folded.



Got it set so I can design and install the jack cover with out having to unfold it till I stitch it in,



Over and out til fall I reckon. Gonna be golden!  :camp:
