Bel's biggest fish to date!
« on: July 31, 2017, 06:36:09 AM »
Took my daughter out fishing the other night and she landed her biggest fish to date!  A largemouth probably right around 3lbs.  Caught all by herself.  She was pretty excited and pleased with herself.  And yes it was bigger than mine as she quickly pointed out :)

Caught with a shallow crankbait.  It was big enough she didn't want to hold it!  LOL!  She usually holds all the fish, haha

then when it was time to go someone didn't want to leave.  So I watched her fish about 15 minutes till it was dark.  One more fish is all she wanted     reminds me of someone I know...

thanks for lookin!

Awesome. Way to go girl.

  I enjoy bass fishing, too. Beats sitting on the shore watching a bobber.

Thanks guys.

OP you are correct.  Unless that bobber has a live bluegill on the other end.  Then it's hold tight and cringe while hanging on :)

Nice bass!  Heck, I'd be grinning, too, if I caught that!

Bluegill, huh?  Thanks for the tip. It's illegal to fish with live 'minnows' in Montana. That's to keep people from fishing for monster Kamloops rainbows with fingerling sockeye salmon!  But bluegills are 'trash fish', and there is no regulation about letting a bluegill swim around on the end of your line while you're having a smoke, or another beer.

We have a prime bass lake 10 miles from here where they have planted 60,000 3" bass every year since 2004. I lost a 5+ pounder to the water lilies a couple years ago. Bluegills and yellow perch are plentiful. No more catch-n-release for Mr. Bluegill the next time I'm out there!

That's really cool, good for her. I can imagine she had to rib you about hers being bigger than yours, that's too funny!! And heck yeah, I'd be happy catching that one myself!!
