We've seen these guy's skills before, but I don't think these newer ones have been posted yet.   He's getting more amazing by the month!  What's next......a car?

From the comments in his blog, it looks like he's from Australia.

Seems like this young man could get a full time job with a living history museum demonstrating primitive technology for a lot more than he could make mowing lawns.  I hope that is what he referred to when he said he was going into the primitive tech business full time.
I guess he'd rather be in Colorado.

I like primitive tech.  I try to make a lot of stuff that I use.   But a sling  :P  I made one this fall turned out great!  Took it out into the back acreage and practiced for a week of evenings.   I'll stick with my slingshot and pocketshot!!

With a few practice shot from either a slingshot or pocketshot I can hit a rabbit at 15 to 20 yards.   But a sling, I'd have to devote at least a month of evenings or more to feel confident enough to use it.  :'(

Reminds me of a topic long ago where we discussed a similar process. I am not gonna search for it, but I do remember there was a discussion about it.

Good video.  I like the trap idea.  Each year when we start irrigating the fields we have large numbers of Crawdads show up at the ditch below the headgate intake.  There are sometimes well over 100 of them.  Of course some years there are none too.  One year when I shut the headgate I stopped to see how long it took the water to stop coming out of the pipe into the ditch.  As the depth fell there was an enormous number of them scurrying upstream.  Unfortunately for them it was a dead end.  I thought then it would be good to trap some of them and see how they tasted.  Maybe this year I will do that.

http://www.lepavillon.com. Wolfy I highly recommend this hotel. It is at the end of the French quarter, close to the water, walking distance to many cool attractions and great restaurants. The food at the hotel is great, they have a huge selection of Scotchs and cigars, and the best part is an awesome peanut butter and jelly bar in the lobby in the evenings. The rooms were too nice for the likes of me and my dad. We ordered room service sandwiches late one night; seventeen dollars per sandwich but it came with four types of meat, as many types sliced cheeses, a large heated onion roll, a large bowl of potato salad, differernt sliced vegis, and several types of mustards, mayos, and other spreads. Highly recommended.
Nice matters

Pretty upscale digs for an old farmer dressed in bib overalls!    Le Pavillion looks like a great place, but Heather has a great room deal (CHEAP) at Hampton Inn & Suites where the conference is being held.  It's right off of Jackson Square, also.  Neither one of us has been down there since the big flood, so some things will probably look different.  We're planning on doing a Grayline tour of the city which my brother and I did one time, but Heather has not.  Can't wait for the chicory coffee and beignets at Du Monde!

Who here works outdoors, with shirt on or without? What does your skin look like? Anybody here work with their hands, digging in the dirt, scratching, carving things out, cutting wood, gathering nat materials, making cordage, lashing, etc, etc- got any pics of those hands and arms after a few days scrounging in the woods?

I didn't pay that much attention to how such things affected me when I was 20-30 years old. I do remember my mother commenting one time when I was maybe 12-15 years old- she was like Unk, "your hands look like an old man's ". Probably, dry, cracked, cut, dirty nails and a little swollen. Various cuts, scratches everywhere clothing is not seems pretty par for the course. I continue my skepticism of this material as presented.
...don't go thinking you know me.

Go to film school then, learn to edit.
Then you too can wack, pat, and pattywack your way to primitive life without scratch or blemish, or sunburn. Just don't be fat, or have cut-off overalls or talk. The main thing is don't talk. Never give any sources for your demos, a reading list or details to your research. Never give any credit to helpers or teachers. Brush up on contracts and such.

What's the point of his work? I don't know.

Just doesn't seem like we are watching the same thing. Maybe there are things I did not pay close attention to that discount my skepticism?  Accepting the end results as presented just because... uh no, not without wear and tear and the excitement to share all info possible as most tend to do.....
