Happy Thanksgiving.  Thankful for family, friends, and Max.  Kelly has a pulled muscle in her back and I got hit with sciatica.  We'll heal.  It's almost comical the cries of OWWW! that come from the kitchen as we slowly take turns with the casseroles and such.  We're pulling 15 min shifts.  LOL.

Life is good.

and this year, I don't have to do all of the cooking.  Taking a Cheddar/Squash/Bacon casserole, a sweet potato casserole, and  a pumpkin/spice cake up to my daughters house.  ALL the clean up will be hers.     :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  We have a diverse, and pretty darn wondeful group here.

Happy Thanksgiving folks! :)

We're doing a small one this year so I just bought a boneless turkey breast. We did get a bunch of potatoes for mashed potatoes, and I got the ingredients for baked mac and cheese, the ubiquitous green bean casserole, and some stuffing. I'll be making some home made gravy as well. :thumbsup:

The wifey and I will go over to our oldest daughter's house tomorrow.
I'll be surrounded by a lot of close family members, good food and plenty of laughter.
Here's hoping everyone will have a safe and joyous Thanksgiving !!

I hope we all find the time to actually count our many blessings this Thanksgiving day!   We are truly blessed as a people and as a nation in a world where many do not have the the same opportunities.  My thoughts are with Kenny this Thanksgiving as he deals with the loss of his mother......and all the rest of the folks who deal with heartbreaking loss during this special family-oriented time of year.  May God grant them peace!

Now, to lighten it up just a bit......Heather, my brother and I will be gathering at our house for a Turkey Extravaganza, where Heather will be giving the new gas range a workout.  On the menu will be Heather's roast turkey, giblet/sage dressing, real mashed taters from our garden w/homemade gravy, homemade pumpkin pie made from the shell of the Halloween jack o'lantern , my brother's cranberry/apple/orange relish and whole-berry cranberry sauce and his candied sweet potatoes. 

My contribution will be standing guard over the kitchen with my Red Ryder carbine to prevent any turkey raids by the Bumpus's pack of hounds. 8). HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all! :banana:

Both my parents were undergoing chemotherapy last Thanksgiving. Dad was in the hospital on their 50th wedding anniversary and got out of the hospital on the day before Thanksgiving. I am SO THANKFUL this year!

This year is the first year in a long time that I have not had to work so I am extremely happy for that cuz I get to hang out with Amy (wife) and my two daughters and have a nice turkey at the house. I am also thankful for the wonderful folks that I have met on this board who have helped me in so many different ways. Have some good vittles today!!

Wishing all happy Thanksgiving.   Going to my son's this year.   First thing we are going to be doing is zeroing the hunting rifles, then some shooting with the 22s, looking forward to this.

I would like to wish everyone a happy love filled thanksgiving. Unfortunately we are having a turkey with no legs. Phooey on all you dark meat haters. No dark meat means weaker tasting gravy,  no turkey soup and worst of all no green chili enchiladas.   :(  I will approach the dinner table  not with my usual unfettered joy, but with my head hanging low for the dark meat will be a no show.

My wife and I are staying home this year and will be by ourselves.  We have a turkey, all the stuff that goes with it, and there are three NFL games on today.

I am going to shoot my NW trade gun a couple of times and wonder how many times in years long past that sound was heard along the river.  Most of all I am going to be thankful for making it to 70, for a wife that is tolerant of my idiosyncrasy's, and for a son who is a genuine good guy.
