On a UK site that I am a member on, we have a 'Buy, Sell, and Gift' section in the forum. It's where members can purchase things from other members or put up an "ad" requesting a trade for something they're interested in, or for gifting something to a member or members. The catch is that vendors are not allowed to market their products on the forum. For each "ad" requesting $/? for the item a member sells, they include a disclaimer that essentially states that they are not in the pursuit of profit. I tend to agree with this way of thinking, as the forum owner, moderators, and members agree that things can get out of hand when a mass of vendors set up shop on an internet forum. A lot of us have seen it happen on other forums (*ahem* *cough* BushBully forum *hack* *wheeze*), so for us, the UK forum is a relief. Vendors are allowed, however, to post their own websites in their "signature" and post threads showing off their latest goods that we all

over.
I think that kind of system works very well. Just my opinion, no offense meant to any vendors here.
