I can't figure out how to update the main message. I was blown away today when I received a new 40 oz. Klean Kanteen stainless steel water bottle from Yellowyak! This forum and its folk are tops! It nest perfectly in my Wally World cup and we're going to give it a good workout on a day outing tomorrow via one of our state park hiking trails.

Jon's package arrived today. Found it on my front porch after getting back from dog-searching.

After a pretty disappointing search for Finn, Jon's generous gifts were the bright spot in an otherwise depressing day.

I felt at least obligated to snap a few photos (albeit some crappy cell phone pics) and post them up. I wish I had it in me to take proper pics of everything, but I'm just exhausted at the moment.

He managed to stuff the following in this little box:

A nice, brand new hard-anodised aluminum kettle (1 liter)
A variety of Norwegian chocolates. We've already started on it.  ;)
A Mora 2/0 neck knife. (I've always wanted one of these.)


A lightweight daypack that packs up in a stuff sack the size of a beer can. A handy little piece of kit, especially for hikes while travelling since it packs up so small.


Two paracord water bottle slings (It's already on the bottle I take with me to work.)


 :shocked:

Already boiled some water for tea in it. Pretty darned excited about this.

And I do believe you were not lying about the chocolate. Kvikk Lunsj beats Kit Kat anyday. I believe I'll try the Firklover tonight. Hazelnut sounds pretty good right about now. :D

Sorry, no... We've had rainstorms nearly nonstop here since I got it. :(
I'll try it out as soon as the weather clears up. (Hopefully soon)

Finally got a chance to take the kettle out for a spin on my little wood stove. The kettle and the nimblewill are a great fit. Got a liter boiling pretty quickly.

I gathered up some white pine needles for some tea. Never made the stuff before, but it's really nice and refreshing. White pine isn't native here in Missouri, but we do have shortleaf pine in our forests. I'll have to try it out next time I'm out.
