Fingers crossed, my severe winter weather alert is in effect until tomorrow afternoon. So far not too bad, at 2AM, I had 4" on the ground, there was not a breath of air moving, and the moon was out, very nice. When I went out to give the gang their breakfast, it had warmed up and rained sometime between 2 and 6:30AM, and I had 2" of slush. Lots of deer tracks, one new set of coyote tracks and lots of stirred up places where the horses were playing in the snow.
I thought the same thing about my snow blower, The first year I had it, there was already 18" of snow on the ground. New toy, got to go blow snow.. It was a most of the day job, my drive way is 1/4 mile long, got done it looked good and two days later, it went to 50 deg., and rained for the next two days, could have saved myself some exercise.
Last winter, big snow fall, ran the snow blower, big job, next day it warmed up to 50 and rained...
This year, I will make a few passes with the blade on my tractor... and call it good.
