New youtube functionality

B&B member Yellowyak found a forum modification that will allow automatic youtube video embedding. Simply by posting the link directly in your posts, youtube videos will now embed automatically.

I have kept the original youtube BB Code button and mod so that existing videos will still display, but you no longer need to use it to embed your videos. Just paste the link directly into your posts and the forum will automatically embed the video. Make sure to thank Yellowyak for finding this great mod for us!

 I wish we had known about that mod back when we were getting the forum set up. We would have been running it from the beginning.

Just a little more info for those interested, it looks like the new mod is compatible with the youtube BB code tags so I went ahead and uninstalled the old version. Old youtube links with BB Code tags will still work, but now the tags aren't necessary.

How will this affect members that cannot watch embedded videos?  I there still a way to provide just a link so they can watch the vid as well?

I couldn't watch the embedded videos before the mod, but now I can watch them just like everybody else in the theater does.

That doesn't change, you can still post a link by putting the link between URL tags. Using the editor, it's the icon of the globe with a piece of paper next to it, second row, second icon.
