In a couple weeks I find out if I drew out on an elk tag.  My fingers are crossed.  I'm hoping I get one.  If I don't get drawn it will be the usual deer hunts for me.  I would be doing those anyways but the elk hunt in the mountains would be cool.

So anyone draw a coveted tag of some kind or have a far away once in a lifetime hunt planned?

our house is just a bunch of meat hunters, so nothing spectacular planned,  drive down the road see something you like, get out and shoot it, toss it the truck and go home,  combined I think we have 3 elk tags, 4 antelope, and 4 deer tags.

Nobody likes a showoff Confluence    :P

I will add that with my lifetime hunting license in my state I have 5 deer tags every year for the rest of my life, the license paid for itself over a decade ago so it's basically like I'm hunting for free  :D

I always hunted with my Dad.  I hunted the year he died, alone and hated it, and have never gone back again.  This 4th of July marks the 10 year anniversary of his death, perhaps I?ll give it a go again this Fall.
I'll be a story in your head, but that's OK we're all stories in the end.  Just make it a good one!

Do you have kids you could take with you? It doesn't have to be your child, take a neighborhood boy hunting and he will remember you for the rest of his life.

My drawing application came back with preference points only, but the past 9 months were so productive, I could just write stories for the rest of the year. ::)
