Title: It's a butcher's Knife or it's a machete, either way it's for sale.
Post by: Wilderbeast on March 23, 2015, 02:33:22 PM
A friend of mine had this laying around and asked if I would put it up for sale on that "knife site" I am always talking about.  >:D

So here it is: 20.25" overall length, blade is 14 1/4 long, 2 3/4" at the widest, tapering to 2" at the hilt.

3/8 inch thick carbon steel and weighs a whopping 1 pound 12 ounces, it's a brute. It has a makers mark but I can't make it out.

$25 plus shipping and I'll throw in some paracord to pad the box.

3/8" at the spine? really?
that'd make a pretty decent froe -- PM on the way.

I believe that is a "coupe-coupe" machete, used by the French military during the World Wars. Pretty awesome looking tool.

Do you have anything that's not for sale?

knife-chete thing showed up today -- 3/16" at the spine, not 3/8", so not a froe, but should work well as a draw knife & machete/chopper.

It looks like a heavy duty beet knife without the spike on the end of the blade.   :-X

I'm really sorry about that.  Must have had a brain fart when I measured it. If it doesn't work for what you want, send it back and I'll give you a full refund.

no worries -- I would have been extremely surprised if it had actually been 3/8" at the spine.
I suspected it was 3/16" from the pics you posted.
