Title: dip in platen

yesteday i was grinding a knife blank and noticed the stock removal
was on the top and bottom but not the center?
so i ajusted the platen and it took care of some of the problem but not all.
what could this be?

What kind of platen to you have? Are you Sure its flat? Check it with a straight edge.
I have a thick piece of temper glass bonded to mine, I KNOW its flat and it helps with heat

i found the dimple going to the shop now.
btw how did you bond the glass to the platen? six footer

2 part epoxy

well problem solved i epoxied a piece of steel over the original platen
works fine now.
