I bought a pair of these for this summer since I'm getting around pretty well. They are very popular. Didn't disappoint. Comfy right out of the box. I have a very generic size 10 shoe size. They have a goretex model but goretex is too hot in FL.
They get my full recommendation (barring poor lifespan). I have 2 pair. Everytime I like a shoe or boot they discontinue it or "fix" non-problems and muck it up. Running shoes were notorious for that in the 80's.
I still want a pair of Danners, but really don't need a $350 boot.

That's a great shoe Tony. I have had a pair of the Moab Ventilators for a few years, great Florida hiking shoe.

I used to buy Merrill shoes and once we found a really good pair of walkers. Wore them out in about three years and when I went to buy another pair they were, of course, no longer made. It made me so mad I have boycotted them ever since. I believe it is called "cutting off your nose to spite your face". I looked the shoes up and they are very much like my favorite Merrills back in the 1980's.
$350 boots are a lot. My 30 year old Russell Mohican Stalkers are going for $562 today with the options on mine. I paid about $250 as I recall. Probably won't buy another pair.

Yessssss, Merrell all the way here.
Started using them about 8 years ago, and since then I stuck with them. Got a couple of them, for normal everyday wear, a pair of lightweight ones for summer hikes, the moabs for spring/autumn/nasty weather/nasty landscape kinda hikes, and a winter pair for in the snow and ice.
Absolutely love them.

4 months. 2 very different environments. I'll still give these boots a 2 thumbs up.
