I received my bush baby prototype from petrifiedwood a couple of months ago and did a brief review "elsewhere".
When I have a few minutes I'll try to re-create the text from memory, but the short version is that this is a handy dandy little blade that has done everything I have asked it to do.
A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's a few

The Bush Baby is currently out for testing but since a few more have "hit the streets" since the prototype, those who have them are invited to chime in with their impressions.

It does look like a fun little knife. :)
-
It's a very fun little knife. It does everything I ask it to do with the only limitation so far being its size. I don't believe I can batton through a mature redwood, otherwise its a can do cutting tool.
-
Looking forward to seeing what Creek spears with it. :D

Oh he told you :P.
It may constitute knife abuse but I'll take the heat for it since I green lighted the experiment.
I'm thinking its going to be a pretty effective projectile and if the worst happens, I'll order another one.

I think it will be fine so long as he doesn't miss and hit rocks or something.

The Bush Baby Spear! Looks way better than it works. Bunch of fun.

My two favorite lines were "sorry Mike" and " I think this would fend off a dog".
That was hysterical, thanks buddy.
-
Heh, yeah it's a neat looking spear, but really you're probably better off using it to sharpen the stick. :D
Still, cool video, thanks for taking the time to make it. :)

Tim,
If your done with it, see if Ches wants to play with it next. He'll probably do some actual bushcraft.
-
Lol, you guys are brutal!

Clowns :)

I'm gonna cord it back again. Maybe I can do one of my pitiful tutes on it.

Sounds good. Youtute away.
Maybe my sheath will make a guest appearance. :-[

And the Academy Award for ugliest saddest sheath goes to....

Oh, wow is that the sheath you made? :D
-
The picture doesn't do it justice.
It is way way uglier in person. :-[
-
I'm gonna sand it before I send it up the road :) It's really not too pretty. It works good.
-
Hey if it keeps the kinfe from falling out, and keeps you from getting cut, then it's a good sheath. How it looks is secondary to how it works.

It was an accident waiting to happen until creek worked on it.

lol, who cares what it looks like, we are all about function here, sub par but functional ;)

I want one!

I want one!
JTD, It's funny you revived this thread.
I recently sent this bush baby out to one of our very talented members to put a set of wood scales on it and make it a leather sheath.
So this one is not available.
I do however have a second one that PW made with micarta scales and a kydex sheath. 8)
Just saying....

to include a PW firesteel ...
I never hike or go out with it ..
I'd have to say great workmanship, and a tool never to leave home without :-)

Now here is what a fully clothed bush baby looks like, Cocobolo scales, Mosaic pins and finally a pair of pants worthy of the blade. This is the knife pictured in the first post on this thread.

My apologies for the poor photography, the pics really don't do the knife justice.

That is a great looking knife and sheath wilderbeast. I received a knife last month that Woodsrunner had rehandled. He does some great work.

Thanks for your comments.
