What I did this weekend.
« on: October 20, 2014, 02:39:09 PM »
I went to a Beckerhead meet! :)
Here's my post and pics from Bladeforums. Enjoy. :)

Ok, here are my pics from the meet.

This is where we slept.

inside. Ground floor.

Where some of us slept. (that's my bag)

Upstairs. Kind of big lounge area. Can't see it in the pics, but some of the long tables were covered in knives. :)

We spent a lot of time (out of the bad weather) in that little hut in the background.

inside there were benches around the walls, and a small fireplace in the middle. One of the cosiest places I've been! :)
Left to right: Bobber, Hayman, Steffen (my oldest son who tagged along) and Rasmus80.

Mmmmm..... Food...
Competition area:

Lennox putting up a giant tarp over the one stick fire area:

From the fire challenge: (View from the winners spot :D )
Vinning fire in the foreground (what's left of it), back left: Steffen and Lennox standing in front of  Bema.

Steffen:

Bema:

Rasmus80:

Hayman: (notice blood.)

I had to take a brake from the festivitives right about here, because....

I had to take Steffen to the E.R.

Three stitches later, and we were good to go.

Sunday morning breakfest...
Rasmus80 making bacon:

Bobber and Bema:

Lennox and Rasmus80:

Boxes of knives... :D

Happy kid. :)

Some Beckers...

 ... With some company :)

And lastly, Bobber's sharpening service... Only one beer for each knife! ;) :D

That's all the pics I had.
Thanks for a great time!!!!

Big fun.  Heal fast Steffen.

Great looking trip!

I like the blade sharpening fee.

Jontok,  Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! Looks like a wonderful time with the exception of a little lesson learned & some minor blood loss by Steffen.
;)

Looks like it was a pretty cool trip for the most part & it is great to see folks getting together to have some fun & camaraderie.
:)

BTW...I also think the sharpening fee is reasonable.
:D
I love being out in the woods!   I like this quote from Mors Kochanski - "The more you know, the less you carry". I believe in the same creed, & think  "Knowledge & honed skills" are the best things to carry with ya when you're out in the wilds. They're the ultimate "ultralight" gear! ;)

I must admit I was a little proud of myself for winning the one stick fire competition. Not only did I win, but I beat the runner up by about 1 hour! :D

That firepit was amazing! They usually don't come with that chimney, but it really helped keep the smoke out.
