Canoe outing 12/27/14
« on: December 28, 2014, 05:49:55 AM »
We were blessed with a beautiful day yesterday. Karen and I took the opportunity to visit the mighty Smith. Sky was clear and blue, no wind to speak of, and 68 degrees. The water was slow and smooth.

Took a new favorite knife for a ride too.

Lots of noise from the life among the trees. Lots of evidence of critters about.

Bout to lose a tree. Hate to see this one fall but I guess it's good the river is alive as well'

2 lane highway

Busy place here too

Was great to be able to get some fresh air. Been a busy past week at least.

Good to see y'all got out and enjoyed the beautiful weather!  It was SO NICE wasn't it  :)   Cool photos of those "game trails".  Some of them are HEAVILY used.
I notice the beaver cut tree there.  Are all those "game trails" from beaver?

I couldn't pass it up either, though I was a bit farther north.  I headed up and knocked out another section and few days & nights on the tail myself.  Man-oh-man was that weather nice!!

Glad to hear the weather is holding out for you enough to get out on the river.  Our temps have dropped a lot and with the rain we've had, the flow is a bit more than I'm comfortable with, but it sure would be fun to get out!  Great pics too!!

Nothin' like a river trip.  Thinking about shooting back home for an overnighter before Kelly goes back to school.

Glad ya got out.

It was like a cool summer day here. With my schedule and holiday stuff, we were trying to figger the last time out and all we came up with was "too long ago". Another present to give thanks for.  :canoe:

Yep, looks like a great place. Our little "river" here is frozen over so no canoeing for us, lol! :D
