Atlas is back up and running!
« on: January 11, 2015, 04:14:47 PM »
I've been in my house for about a year and a half now. Finally got my sewing machine set up so as I can use it again. Was hard to find a place with good light and where it won't be an eye sore. Got it situated today. Corner of the bottom floor right near an outlet. Hung me a light. I moved the tool box up from the building, it has all my sewing stuff in it. Moved the machine into the light and bam!

My 1958 Atlas has a new home.

This is a great old machine that sews a straight stitch all the time. Going to blow it out real good and oil it. Have several projects I want to attempt. We'll see what happens.

Gosh. I haven't seen one of those since we empties out my grandparents house when they downsized. That would have been '88 or '89. Nice old rig you have there.

Looks great! Can't wait to see what you can turn out with it. Cleverly located too, right in front of a mirror! "They" will have a hard time sneaking up on you.  ;)

I like the interior decorating in your home.  If you are married your wife is a peach.

Mike, I can't stand that mirror. That's why it's downstairs. It reflects the light nicely so it is good there until I can give it away. Stan, Karen is the nicest lady I have ever met. The rest of our home is pretty nice, but we get more comments on the "man cave" than any other part. Most very positive. A few young mothers have been taken with the danger in the "decor"..  Wait till the tent treehouse is done :) She indulges me just enough and I'm a lucky guy.

Nice piece of working history! My grandma had a Singer that was probably about the same age. Can you get replacement parts for them?

Honestly I don't know PW. I haven't been faced with that issue yet. Thank goodness. It doesn't do a lot but what it does do, it does just fine.

From the color choices I've seen so far, it appears that Creek got the "Boy's Model"
