adze from hammer
« on: January 14, 2015, 06:51:54 PM »
Found an old hammer head on the side of the road, and I really wanted an adze, so...I made one.

Very cool, arseny!   I've always wanted a curved adze like that......would have come in handy for a lot of things I TRIED to make without one. :-\

You not only made a functional tool, but you made it into a beautiful object.

Outstanding

Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? One should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved.

That is really a nice adze arseny.  Nice design on the claw end and the adze came out superbly.

That was a brilliant idea to use that section of pipe to get the very even and incredibly smooth convex surface on the outside curve of the adze blade, too. :hail:     Smooth where it needs to be and hammer-finished on the inside where it's not as necessary.......cam e out just beautifully, too

That's awesome.  You did an excellent job on that.  It looks like it was suppose to be an adze all a long.  That's one of the neater projects I've seen in a awhile.  Very cool and well done!    :chopwood:

Great job on the new adze.

You saved yourself a lot of money Arseny!   Beautiful job on that adze I like the fact that you kept the "claw" on it and turned it into some "rams horns" very cool!  Keeping that extra weight on there makes chipping wood a lot easier I bet.

Looking forward to your future projects!
