Canoe outing 1/20/15
« on: January 20, 2015, 04:59:02 PM »
Wasn't the sunniest day but it sure was a a lovely 68 here. A great day for Jan. so Karen and I made our way to the water! I was happy to see our community continuing to improve this place. There are various playing fields, walking trails and river access. A few structures have been added along the walking trail on the river.

We started at our normal spot.  Cloudy but  Warm!

Nice to see improvements as time passes. Rest stops for the walkers and river watchers.

Good to see critter activity too.

note big print

Sure was nice to slip out onto the water. Thanks for looking.

I'd consider that a nearly perfect setting for a January canoe trip.....not windy, not cold, no bugs, and just enough overcast to keep from sunburning winter-whitened skin. ;D.    Not cold here either, but not warm enough to consider a canoe trip. :(

Might want to check on the topics Title too.
;)

Thanks for sharing your trip out with us too!
:)

We are getting a bit of snow up here. So it is nice to see others getting out where it is a bit warmer & having some good times in the outdoors without having to bundle up a bit!
:)

Always happy to see the trips you make on the water! Thanks again for the sharing!
:D
I love being out in the woods!   I like this quote from Mors Kochanski - "The more you know, the less you carry". I believe in the same creed, & think  "Knowledge & honed skills" are the best things to carry with ya when you're out in the wilds. They're the ultimate "ultralight" gear! ;)

Those are some great pictures. The water look very clear, is that typical for this time of the year?

Nice jaunt.  I love rivers any time of the year and your pictures are a time we seldom get to see in these parts.  I would have to put runners on the canoe.  What a great day.
