Me too.  I've got 4 black walnuts on my land and love the wood.  I should post a better pic tomorrow that shows the color more clearly...

Nice, what did you use to carve the spoon with?

A Mora 780 and a hook.  Walnut is pretty easy to carve..

Thanks, I bought the blade off e-Bay, its O-1, my fav steel.  I gripped it with oak from my land...

Be careful. Its addictive like hanging axes lol.  My wife only uses a couple of longer spoons that I made a long time ago..
