Thanksgiving 2015 outings
« on: November 29, 2015, 07:51:14 AM »
The weather Friday was BEAUTIFUL. Finally got up to about 65. Full generation from the hydro plant.... yummy day.

Only took a second for the sweater to come off!

Blue skys and plenty of water.

my favorite bridge...again

Then on Saturday the troops went shopping and I hit the river solo!

We chased our Heron friends Friday but was never able to get close enough for a pic. I saw 5 Saturday.

the water was just fine again.

Cloudy but wonderful.

This will be the next tree in the drink I think. If you look close it's roots are about to lose hold on the bank

This Sycamore doesn't have much time left.

Life springs eternal. Note little spruce

Nice to get out at the end of November and even better to sneak in a solo run  :canoe:

Great looking river to float.  Flow looks just perfect.  That is a neat bridge.  Those stone bases on the supports are classic.  I don't see any like that out here.

Man that looks pretty. Also looks like a potentially great place to fly fish :)

Do they make the CFM flow rate public, so you know beforehand what to expect as far as water level is concerned?

Yes they do wolfy..."subject to change" <-- that's the problem. The local Basin association has been fairly successful in lobbying for a more generous flow, especially on weekends. We have been fortunate to have been blessed with plenty of rain as of late. They generated 24/7 all last week and through the weekend. I aint complaining.  :canoe:

Heck, that's only about 1200 miles away from here!   Le'see.....1200 miles, around 18.5 hours under the wheel......I could be there by Wednesday if the roads were decent. ;D    :canoe:

I just had four days off. All of them 15 to 40 mph winds. It's really nice out and  want to go one more time before the white crap.

I'm again envious of you guy's. Hmmm, How much can I get for the place if I throw in the horse? HA!
pessimist complain about the wind. optimist expect the wind to change. realist adjusts the sails.

Looks like a great trip. I love getting out on the water with a group of folks, but I really enjoy my solo trips.
