« on: January 09, 2018, 06:52:47 PM »
i know that the inuit use ulu's for skinning such things as
walrus
seal
whale
and so forth. but are they also used to work leather?
cause i was thinking of making one out of a old sawmill blade.
so any ideas out there.

There are better knives for leather work than the ULU Michael.  A real thin one in a small arc might get you by for a time but it won't be as good as a leather knife.  The round knife is what most of the people I know use and here is one that is cheap and looks a lot like an Ulu.

I never heard the term 'round knife' before......I always heard them referred to as 'head knives.'

EDIT: I just went back and read the description beneath the picture. :P :-[
