Great Grandpa's buck

A friend told me that family had discovered that great grandpa's deer mounts had been filled with asbestos material, and they had to be disposed of. Somebody cut the antlers off with a sawzall, and left the crowns on the skulls. He always wanted a Bowie knife, and he wanted to include some of the antler. Here is what I came up with. Thanks for looking.

Too bad the crowns were lost, but you did a GREAT job of extending the memory of great gramp's buck-of-a-lifetime! He should be able to lop the the head off his next one with a single swing of that monster Bowie!
Thanks to Greg for getting the pictures up......what would we morons do without him?

Thanks for the kind words! When I saw the antlers with no crowns, it was "oh no...."

That handle looks absolutely stunning. Very rustical and old school. Great looking knife, Jeff!

Nice work, Jeff. Looks like the bit of curvature in the antler made a nice contour for the handle.
