Another American Icon goes anti-gun
« on: March 06, 2019, 07:56:56 PM »

Levi Strauss's president and CEO has gone full anti-gun,  he's urging other public owned companies to join his company in the fight to end gun violence in America,  he is actually paying his employees to join and support gun control groups on local and state levels.

Wrangler jeans better not do that.  I had some Levi shirts that I will make into grease rags.

Wranglers are fine with me. Can't stand these ill-informed moral high grounders.

I'm not throwing my old Levis away, but I won't buy anymore of Levi's goods.

Levi Strauss has been on the wrong side of this issue for years, if not decades! >:(   The NRA alerted the membership to this development in THE AMERICAN RIFLEMAN when I was still in college, so it pays to read all of the updates, so as not to further the growing list of the Evil Empire. :spider:

Yeah, I think they've been anti-gun for years.  But they've made crappy jeans for even longer!  When I was young I wore 501s every day and they lasted for decades.  Now they're all made in China or India (forget which) and are pure crap.

Here's a link to an article about their shabby labor practices.  Once they employed thousands of American workers but now...

Have not purchased a product of theirs for years now, it was overpriced then and I am sure it is now. Screw them

I stopped buying their jeans a long time ago.  Their stance on the 2nd Amendment has re-enforced that decision.

I've never owned any of their products.

And another one y'all know about just got even worse than when they decided to take ARs and look alikes off their shelves.

We don't have them where I live but there are stores where I moved from.  Glad that I never shopped in one.

As I draw closer to retirement and am in need of a camper/travel trailer/or something I remember the words of Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World, that Trump supporters do not need to shop at his stores.  Works for me.

I should have guessed. Not near enough belt loops- is that how you knew?
I got a pair of 501; but these were not Jeans: these are pants. Not even a quality pant. This pair got a tear above the left butt cheek pocket. One of many least expected points of failure because such has never happened with any pant before: in my entire life. If I had paid more than 50% retail I'd be super mad. I'm not happy. Paid $25 for brown cotton pants and they suck. Worn 10 times with no idea why why they became torn.

The quality of product appears to be in proportion with the quality of general attitude held by any given corporate body.
Go ahead; ask if I am surprised. (answer:No.)

I'm equally inclined to burn them as return them- if I do I will also lie and try to get a full retail reimbursement
...don't go thinking you know me.
