Blackfoot Indian DNA traced back 55 generations
« on: May 09, 2019, 08:56:56 AM »
I found this interesting regarding the DNA this individual has and where his ancestors came from.  We grew up being taught that Native Americans came over the Bering land bridge and south into North America.  This fellow is 83% Native American and has Pacific DNA along with South American, SE Asia, and European ancestors.

That was interesting....I read the same thing in the Omaha World Herald a couple of days ago. :coffee:   This DNA thing has revealed a whole bunch about what we THOUGHT we knew about the origin of our ancestors, the evolution of known historical facts & what has proven to be not much more than mere speculation or an educated guess on the part of the archeologists.

What also caught my eye when I saw this is his DNA goes back 15,000 years.  Wow!

I wonder how accurate these tests are.  What is the data base?  You need a lot of samples, and from a population not really common.  Lots of speculation based on a small amount of data.

Yeah but I didn't like the results.

Makes you think about those aspen tree clone colonies that are many hundreds of thousands of years old.

I had not thought about that until you mentioned it.  It does make you think about those clones that are descended from trees that produced the root system they live on.
