Grandma's True Temper Axe
« on: May 15, 2020, 09:42:17 PM »
My Grandparents worked in a shipyard during the war, and Grandma had a little money to spend. She bought the lot next to their house, and an axe to clear the brush. In 1977 Grandpa retired, and they moved to Florida, and Grandma gave the axe to me. It is stamped,
 "True Temper"
 "Kelly Works"

Grandma's old axe got an instant "patina". ??? I mixed the cold blue with water, and applied to the axe head. It's hard to see the gray color, but it doesn't look bad for a working axe. It came out a little blotchy, but I think it will age well. (better than this old guy)
