every once in awhile, you get a good hand
« on: September 12, 2020, 01:58:41 PM »
Danny and Cathy have been on the road.  Danny called yesterday, saying he was heading through town.  Tony set up the meeting place, and the three Kracaneuners showed up within two minutes of each other.  We had a wonderful hour plus catching up.  This get together,  spontaneous, unplanned and unexpected meant the world to me.  It has been WAY too long.  The Kracs are like family to me.

I miss you guys!  I never got to meet Danny when Heather & I were down at Hush's farm last winter, but he looks like a guy that I could get along with.

Tony...looks like Keto is working for you!!  Good for you, man!  All it takes is brains & fortitude.....that's the part I have trouble with.

Would have Dave, but it was pretty spontaneous.  Had no advance notice that it was going to happen.

Nice!  It's good to be able to get together with old friends especially given all the crap going on in the world today.

Ok well,  I'll comment on this post because it's close to home and I miss my brother Kracs.  Danny, Sam, and I are original Kracs.  Sam went out of his way to meet us on the first camp.  Danny showed up with a dually truck (still runs a dually) and the only thing in his truck bed was his backpack.  It filled it.  The morning after we hiked into our next camp.  Danny shouldered an ENORMOUS pack and left us behind in the sugar sand to try and keep up.  We had to yell at him to bear left once, as he bulldogged his way towards his goal.  FYI,  sugar sand has to be experienced to appreciate it's difficulty.
Danny (and wife) still compete (quite successfully) in martial arts.
Sam does everything he can to spend some woods time with us.  It is much appreciated.  Sam's one of a kind. lol.
I'm doing pretty good.  A LOT better than I thought I would be a year or two ago.
I think it's been more than a decade now we've been a tribe.
Life long friendships are few and far between for me.  I'm thankful that I have that with the Kracs.
I'll try and get Hushnel (Also an original Krac) to post a pic of our motley crew on the first camp.

Tony

ps. Thanks wolfman.  I'm taking break from keto for awhile.  Next go around goal is 185 lbs.

You guys are lucky to have each other.

I have three friends and lot of acquaintances.

One friend is new and lives in Nebraska.  I wish we would have met thirty or more years ago and lived closer.

Another is my old hunting and dog training partner from Colorado who is now in his mid-eighties and living on an acreage.  He shoot stuff with a pellet gun and we talk every so often about the old days.

The other is a guy I grew up with in Colorado.  We rode motorcycles and fished all over the place from 1959 till about 1970.  We both got married in the sixties.  He is done with it after his third.  I am still on my first.  He rides his Harley to Sturgis every year and spends the day at our farm.
