Out of Africa - Masai knife
« on: June 17, 2012, 02:13:49 PM »
Not sure where to put this, but this IS a custom knife!  Given to me by a returning missionary who said this was an old Zulu knife.  Thought I'd share a pic with you.  I think it's kinda neat...

After years of having stuff like this, it's kinda nice to have a place to share it.

Kinda a neat blade!

Thanks for looking in.

Thanks!  It is a sweet blade to show someone who comes over and makes the mistake of showing an interest.... ;)

It's about 19" o/a with about a 14" handle.

It's neat to think that some Masai warrior used this as his "go to" bushcraft blade.  (Not to mention, if it's old enough, to possibly hack and slash someone!)

Culture, the last thing you'd want is a Masai warrior sharing their culture, if they were wielding one of those  :chopwood:

Nice knife though, you must be very pleased to have it in your collection.

Ya, it's a keeper.  Like I said, GREAT convo piece...

I should really take a pic of it stashed inside some kind of cattle skull or something....

Had another HUGE custom curvy bowie/kukri kinda thing made over there that I gave away.  Thing was massive.  They like the "hack and slash" I reckon...
