Who are the knife makers on this forum
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:37:01 AM »

One of my son's asked me to make a new sheath for a small skinner that he's had for a long time and is one of his favorites that the sheath has worn out on,  I've been handling the knife for a couple of days now trying to come up with a design for the sheath that will be pleasing to the eye, but as functional as possible.
Well, I've come up with a design on paper that I think will be what I'm looking for,  in the couple of days that I've been playing with the knife trying to get a "feel" for it I've been impressed with it's radical style,  and it's inspired me to use one of it's features and a couple of my own ideas to start to design a bushcraft/utility type knife.
What I'm thinking of is a collaboration effort to make a prototype and work out an agreement with the maker.

Indeed, the ratio of makers to users/collectors is high here.  But we are about blades, after all... ;)

Great,  as a maker what do you think of my idea,  too far out there, or worth discussing ?

Actually I just finished a sheath for a Bowie Chris made for a customer,  more sword than knife,  but nice workmanship.

Are you looking to make a whole new knife and sheath, or a sheath for this knife?

And discussing knives is what we're all about so no problem. :)
