NG Leatherworks 4.5 x 6 Journal
« on: September 28, 2012, 01:47:57 PM »
Yesterday I received one of Nick's journals that can be found starting here:  http://bladesandbushcraft.com/index.php/board,85.0.html

It looks to be made of about 8 ounce oiled leather.  Very durable.  There are 5 margins/books within made from 10 sheets of paper each.  That equates to 100 usable surfaces if I have done my knittering correctly.

I think Nick has done a bang up job in the manufacture of these.  When my wife saw it she siad, "Wow!  How much does he ask for them?"  When I gave here the prices I got "Wow!  Is that all?!"

That may not sound like much of an endorsement, but my wife is a hard one to get to spend money and she appreciates the value of hand made as much if not more so than I.

Have a look at some of Nick's stuff.  I think if you take the plunge you will be pleasantly surprised.

Great pics Buckskin! You can see the grain in the leather. Congrats on a really nice journal. That leather should hold up for ages. And I agree I don't think it would be easy to find a quality handmade, hand bound journal like that for what he's asking anywhere else.

On a slightly off topic note, is that a Schrade tactical pen?

Its a Smith and Wesson pen.  I like it as well.

Very nice! That's a great looking journal. Do those booklets come out, as in, could it be refilled with fresh paper?

Wow, that is a glowing review. I appreciate it. Nice pictures too. I need to work on that. It's actually 200 usable surfaces as each page has 4. But who's counting  ;)
