I can't seem to find the easiest way to CUT micarta to shape.
Opinion needed on what kind of machines, saws, techniques etc...you guys use to tackle that hard micarta.
Please help me and make my life a little less miserable.  :)

Micarta cuts pretty easy with a scroll saw. G-10 is easier to sand to shape... IMO

By hand, the only thing I have used successfully in the past has been a coping saw.

Thanks .  I'm going with the scroll saw.......I have to cut a bunch time to time and I think the scroll saw will be easier than cutting by hand.  :)

I don't have a scroll saw so I have used a coping saw to cut it. When I am cutting scales from a larger sheet of material I just use my table saw. Mostly though for removing moderate amounts of the stuff I just grind it away with a 36 grit belt.

I don't have a scroll saw, so I cut it with a bandsaw, and then grind it to shape.

Band saw is even better than a scroll saw IMHO.  But both would work fine.

Bandsaw to shape, oversized.  Pin and Glue then drum sand to fit.  :)  Just my $.02...

I have a band saw as well and it is good for rough shapes, and breaking down blocks of wood.  The scroll saw is far better for detail work, and is $60 at Harbor frieght. My band saw was $300. You can get a cheap one for around $120 but they don't work well at all IMO. The cheap scroll saw from HB has been crankin for over 2 years now, and works pretty well. More than one way to skin a cat...
