« on: February 25, 2012, 06:19:09 PM »
These are all the kuksas and spoons I am  doing at the moment all are pretty much spoken for in trades  need some finish work  to them  then  oiling. The kuksas are still being carved out an assortment of apple maple  willow  and beech and  birch  for the one spoon and kuksa

Looking good, keep on chipping away at them.
Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? One should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved.

Wow, you've been busy! You are getting a really nice finish on the inside of the spoons.

Lot of  sanding to that and   using  the crook knife  to  smooth them out some

Thanks Guys

On particularly rough days when I'm sure I can't possibly endure, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days so far is 100% and that's pretty good.

Nope.. the one above that with the black squiggly lines in it. :)

I'll bet you've made enough carving chips to have a bonfire huh?  :)

Those are nice. What tools do you use? What kind of oil do you use?

Using  a Mora 164  for the bowl portion on the  spoon a Mora 840 for some f the heavy rough  work lately been using my CS trail hawk  for a  lot of the  main heavy shaping, till I get my  custom knife in I use  an Opi #7 for the detail work oil will be mineral oil  after all the final sanding is done
