Kit Contest: A Holy Hand Grenade's Worth of Survival
"And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."THE CONTEST:Your mission, noble Knights of BnB, is to create a survival kit of your own design that is contained within (and only within) a MOLLE grenade pouch. Once complete, you are to post a picture of the pouch and contents, listing your survival items and explaining why you chose them. At the end of the contest, the forum will vote via poll for the best survival kit.
THE RULES:1. You must have 100 or more posts to participate, and be at least 18 years of age.
2. The first 10 members to sign up may PM Wilderbeast with their address and receive
a free grenade pouch for this contest (US only). Everyone else has to pay shipping (yes, that includes Canadians). If you already have a pouch, great! Use it! Just to clarify, everyone after the first 10 sign ups has to pay the shipping cost to get a grenade pouch.
3. This pouch should be military surplus/issue, in any color pattern of your choosing (in my experience, these typically come in woodland, desert, ACU, Coyote). However, it must be designed exactly like one of these:
4. While there are no restrictions on what goes INTO the grenade pouch (thus giving you limitless creativity), nothing must be attached to the OUTSIDE of the pouch, nor be sticking out the sides, under the flap, woven through the MOLLE, lashed on in some fashion, etc. So, to repeat, the contents of the kit must by contained within the pouch. I don't care if you fill the pouch with tactical gummy worms, just as long as one isn't sticking outside the cover flap.
5. This is a friendly competition, so no one should be unfairly criticizing what other people do with their kits. Everyone defines survival differently. Someone might make a traditional survival kit. Someone might follow some book's definition. Someone might create a kit for urban survival. Someone might make one meant to survive the undead monkey comet of doom. However, in the end, the forum will decide who "wins" the competition.
THE BOOTY:He or She who wins shall receive the following prizes:
Heavy Duty Carbon Mora Companion MG and a Darrel Aune Colonial Style steel.
AND
$50 in Wilderbucks to be applied to any purchase in Wilderbeast's Military Surplus Forum. Any purchase using Wilderbucks will include free shipping.
AND
Apparently, Madmax will spend a night out with the winners kit.
Please gather your Holy Hand Grenade Pouches and begin construction. You have until Easter Sunday, March 31st, to post your kit pictures and descriptions, after which we will poll a winner. Good luck!
