Ron,
Nice kit.  I dig the light, aquamira tabs, and fishing kit.  That light makes a HUGE difference for those of us that don't sleep well or get up early.  Big time convenience!  The smaller hooks are great.  I catch a dozen small ones for every big one.
At least it's not a femur through the pelvis.

My pouch arrived today. I decided to order one of those Italian canvas packs to combine shipping. A lot of the stuff I want to include in the pack is at the other house so it might be a bit before I can get the kit together, but it should be fun.

Well I would say my kit is about 70% done. Just making a few minor tweeks. I been trying to decide which is better to have in it. I would say the next few days. But here is a question is this survival and rescue or just survival.

I got my pouch and was a little surprised at how small it is!

You guys who have posted already have done an amazing job and have set the bar so high that anything that I was thinking of throwing together will seem childish and trivial in comparison! Great job!

The pouch size does make it challenging but it is great to have with you if you ever did need it. There are going to be duplicate items in all of the kits, I'm looking forward to seeing the unique items people put in there kits and the ideas behind them.

So lets see some more kits.

Exactly, not everyone's pouch will be the same, but similarities are expected. We all have a general idea on survival and kit building, after all. :)

Many different ways to skin that cat.  That's why watching how each person approaches this is interesting.

As long as you can cover shelter, water, fire, cordage and a cutting tool, everything else is just cake.

And if you can fit a cake in there, that would be awesome.

Signal mirror
Survival blanket
Old timer 3 blade
100 feet of 20 lb braid
2 hooks
Pen light
Alcohol wipes x 2
Iodine wipes x 2
Sutures x 2
Military issue aviator fire starter with wicks
Bandaids
And 10 feet of paracord and I don't think I have a single square centimeter left of space.

I just put one together, I could probably squeeze a small firesteel and scraper in as well as this stuff, but what I have is:

A whistle with a tiny compass glued on it, a square of heavy duty aluminum foil,  Two one pint bags from MRE's, a signal mirror,
instant coffee and chrystal light, an altoids tin wrapped in 30 feet of masons line (which could be pulled apart into 90 feet of cordage) a roll of duct tape, a leatherman micra, toilet paper, two beef cubes, tea, matches and water purification tablets.  And the film canister has a large garbage bag in it.

Just stuff I threw together, still a work in progress.

and I may lose the garbage bag for a survival blanket and make a couple of other tweaks as well.

Mine showed up on the 25th, looks brand new! I am going to be busy this weekend but will try to put something together. I have almost all the materials I need except for the fishing gear.

They are brand new (both the pouches and the rucks).

I'm looking forward to seeing a few more entries.  If I have a chance I'll tweek mine and post it up.

Mine was waiting for me when I got home from the office today!  Really cool! I'm gonna try to get it done this weekend.  I think it's a really good size for a small PSK.

Great contest with great entries so far!  I really dig this stuff!

OK, I got right on this like a fat kid on a candy bar.  What fun, eh?!?

First off, I love that pouch.  Pretty awesome little thing, thanks to 'Beast for getting up here so lickety split.  My wife also liked the pouch and called it 'cute'.  I let it go this time, because, well, I guess in a manly grenade way, it is...

Secondly, while I want to 'enter' the contest, I don't want to be entered into the draw, if that's possible.  I've been blessed by winning a few things lately, and don't want to be a dog in the manger.

Here's a crappy quality video of my USGI Grenade Pouch PSK:

Also, here's a couple of additions since the video.

I threw a piece of duct tape over the pot to help keep the stuff from falling out, and as well I taped a piece of fine sand paper to the inside flap for stropping my knife or whatever.

Thanks for checking this out.

Also, thanks for this excellent contest, and the great entries.  Hope to see lots more!

Great looking kit Irish and a nice snake braid bracelet. I have tied that style once and it was time consuming braid.

Lol I prefer to call it a old timer lol. It was given to me by my grandpa when I was a young guy. And who know how long he had it before then. That lil knife had cleaned more wild game than any other I own still holds a great edge and no matter what knife I have it always goes into the woods with me kinda like a good luck charm. Yes that snake braid sucks try making a duck call lanyard in snake braid took me almost 3 hours and my hands were sore. My buddy asked me to make him one and I just laughed..... Then made it. To me gets the cord compact and saves a lil space

I have counted to three, no more and no less!

Actually, I completed my kit a few days ago but I haven't been home during daylight to photograph it until today  :-\  This kit content is very similar to the one I normally carry when in the woods.

Contents packed

Shelter and fire: top- emergency blanket and 60' of bright colored mason's line, bottom- MRE matches in crack bag, 2 packs of Quick Tinder, strips of inner tube, a Fire Lite one handed ferro rod, and and extra ferro rod

Water: two heavy duty bags with 1 liter marks and twist top, Micropur tablets (enough for 3 gallons).

Tools, signal and navigation: Spyderco Delica knife, kayak whistle, lightweight signal mirror made from auto mirror replacement product, button compass and a Streamlight Nano light

Food: fishing kit in a crack bag (bobbin with a lot of 8# line, a dozen hooks, split shots), 18' of light snare wire (suitable for squirrels)
